FAQs
What is Record Tunes?
Record Tunes is a third-party music publisher and release-support platform focused on helping labels, independent artists and music creators manage music releases and related rights and revenue administration.
Do I have to use Record Tunes?
No. Using Record Tunes is voluntary. If you choose to use our platform, you must follow the applicable Record Tunes terms, release requirements and policies.
Who does Record Tunes mainly work with?
Our primary focus is on labels and their catalogs. Eligible independent artists and music creators can also use our services subject to applicable review and requirements.
How do I submit a release?
You can submit the required music, artwork, metadata and other release information through the available Record Tunes platform and workflow. We then handle the applicable processing and release-related work.
How long does a release take?
The general processing range is approximately 24 hours to 15 days. Actual timing depends on the release, information provided, required checks and third-party processing.
Is every release guaranteed to be approved?
No. Submission does not guarantee approval or publication. A release may require corrections, additional information or may be rejected if it does not meet applicable rights, quality, metadata, platform or policy requirements.
How does new label approval work?
New label applications are reviewed internally. Review may consider channel history, catalog strength, previous activity, content quality and other internal criteria. Approval is not automatic.
What is the revenue share?
Under the standard arrangement, 70% of eligible revenue goes to the user and 30% to Record Tunes. Actual earnings depend on revenue reported by applicable platforms and other conditions.
What is the minimum payout?
The current minimum payout threshold is ₹50, subject to applicable account, revenue reporting, verification and payout requirements.
Does Record Tunes collect revenue?
Where the applicable service arrangement provides for it, Record Tunes may collect or administer revenue reported through applicable third-party platforms and make the eligible user share available according to the applicable terms.
What support is available?
Record Tunes provides support through available email and Telegram support channels for platform, release, policy and related questions.
Is support available every day?
Record Tunes operational support and processing are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Requests received during the weekend may be handled during the next operating period.
Can I request a takedown?
Takedown requests and release removal are handled according to the applicable Record Tunes policies. Rights, legal, platform and compliance concerns may also require a release to be restricted or removed.
What happens if I upload music without the necessary rights?
Users are responsible for having the necessary rights and permissions for everything they submit. Content without the required rights may be rejected, restricted or taken down, and the account may be subject to applicable suspension or termination measures.
Can my account be suspended or terminated?
Yes. Record Tunes may suspend, restrict or terminate access where permitted under the applicable terms and policies, including for serious or repeated non-compliance, rights concerns, misuse or other valid reasons.
Does Record Tunes guarantee a certain amount of revenue?
No. Revenue depends on actual activity and reporting through applicable third-party services. The 70% / 30% revenue share does not guarantee a particular level of earnings.
Can third-party platforms delay or reject my release?
Yes. Third-party platforms may apply their own review, content, metadata, technical and policy requirements. Their processing time and decisions are outside Record Tunes' direct control.
