Practical guidance for rights, releases, ownership, takedowns and policy-related matters on Record Tunes.
Before submitting any release, make sure you have the necessary rights, permissions and authority for the sound recording, composition, artwork, metadata and other material included in the release.
Record Tunes does not determine ownership of your music merely because you submit it through the platform. You remain responsible for confirming that your submission does not infringe another person's or organization's rights.
If there is a credible ownership or rights concern involving a release, Record Tunes may review the matter and may request supporting information or documentation before continuing to process the content.
A release may be restricted or removed where there is a valid rights complaint, legal concern, policy violation, inaccurate information or applicable third-party requirement.
Users are responsible for the legality and accuracy of their submissions. Do not submit music, artwork, metadata or other material unless you have the necessary authority to use and submit it.
If a release contains incorrect metadata, ownership information or other material that needs correction, Record Tunes may request an update before processing or continuing with the release.
Record Tunes may suspend or restrict an account, release or service where permitted by its applicable policies, including serious or repeated non-compliance, suspected misuse or rights-related concerns.
Access may be terminated where permitted under the applicable Terms, User Agreement and policies. Termination does not remove obligations that accrued before termination.
Releases may be processed through third-party digital platforms. Those platforms may apply their own copyright, content, metadata and compliance requirements, and their decisions may affect availability of a release.
Revenue administration and rights ownership are separate matters. Where the applicable arrangement provides for revenue sharing, the standard share is 70% to the user and 30% to Record Tunes, subject to the applicable terms and actual reported revenue.
Keep relevant ownership records, licenses, agreements, contributor information and other documentation relating to your releases. Such documentation may be important if a rights question arises.
Our support channels can help explain Record Tunes' release process, applicable platform policies, submission requirements, takedown procedures and other platform-related matters.
